Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic Cells

What are Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells???

They are the tiny little building blocks of life and sometimes death!

Eukaryotic cells are what make up humans, animals, and plants. They do everything from constructing us as babies with DNA to making a plant stem green with chloroplast.

Prokaryotic cells are what make up bacteria and Blue-green algae. They do everything from helping you digest your food to making you sick. Humans and Prokaryotes have a love, hate relationship.

Although these two types of cells make up very different things they are alike in many ways! They have certain parts that are the same even though they are so different. They both have plasma membranes surrounding them that are filled with cytoplasm that have ribosome?s floating around in them where they both make DNA for themselves! Prokaryotic cells do have a cell wall, and although not all Eukaryotic cells have a cell wall the plant cells do.

Just because they have those similarities though do not make them all that alike. Eukaryotic cells are much more complicated then prokaryotic cells. The major way we tell these two types of cells apart is by seeing which one has a nucleus and organs that rely on a nucleus. Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus because they are so big compared to Prokaryotes. There for they need it to be the boss and split up tasks and designate them to smaller groups so they can focus on a bigger picture. Although they both have DNA Prokaryotes' DNA does not have a beginning and end like Eukaryotes.

- Q: Compare And Contrast The Prokaryotic And Eukaryotic Genomes
The eukaryotic genome is diploid but the prokaryotic genome is haploid. The eukaryotic genome has multiple origins of replication but the prokaryotic genome has only one origin of replication. The eukaryotic genome may have more than one chromosome but...

- Prokaryote: Cells
In this picture are millions and millions of bacteria. No matter how much I clean the countertops, once an object or hand is placed on it, more bacteria live there. Bacteria is a prokaryote which are cells that do not have a nucleus or membrane bound...

- Prokaryotic Cells Vs. Eukaryotic Cells
Prokaryotic Cells Prokaryote is a cell or an organism that lacks a nucleus and other membrane enclosed organelles and most of their DNA is a single circular molecule. All bacteria are prokaryotic cells. The word "prokaryote" means "before the nucleus"...
