Definition
Creatinine is an organic compound that is produced as by-product from decomposition of phosphocretaine the high-energy storage form of creatine. Creatinine normally excreted in the urine as a metabolic waste after its filtration by kidneys.  An elevated  level of creatinine in urine or in blood serum indicates a kidney disfunction.
