Definition
Thorax is a division of an animal's  body that lies between the head and the abdomen. In mammals, the thorax is the region of the body which  lies above the abdomen (diaphragm) and below the neck. It is formed by the sternum, the thoracic vertabrae, and the ribs. In arthropods the thorax is one of the three main divisions of the body, between the head and the abdomen
