Ocean Acidification

What is it:

Ocean Acidification is what happens when the Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere transfers into the ocean and when Carbon Dioxide and water mix it creates a acid which is the acidification part.

Correlation Between Climate Change and Acidification:

Climate change is caused by greenhouse gases entering into our atmosphere and blocking the sun's rays from leaving our planet, most of these gases produced by humans is carbon dioxide which is part of Ocean Acidification.

How Does Acidification affect marine life:

When the Ocean acidifies most animals in the ocean are not able to adapt quick enough to survive changes in ph and therefore will not survive a more acidic ocean and that is also true for humans as well.

How does it affect Businesses:

Businesses that are based on muscles or shellfish like crabs, oysters, lobsters, etc. are not going to have a market because these creatures will not be able to reproduce and create more of its self if the babies die because of the Acidification of the ocean. Even the Fish could start dying if the ph level gets to high and there goes a main source of business.
