The oxytocyn was discovered by British pharmacologist Sir Henry Hallett Dale (1875-1968) in 1906.
Definition
Oxytocin is a small peptide of nine amino acids that is synthesized in hypothalamic neurons to blood and within the brain.  This hormone is responsible for many functions as uterine dilation before birth and milk ejection.
