Homework Clipland activity
Remember, if you haven't done so already, you must hand in the questions from pages 205 and213 tomorrow. In addition, look at the data that we got from the Clipland activity. What differences do you notice between the data from East and West Clipland? Given the type of food available, is the data obtained, what you would have expected? Remember that in the third season the food in East Clipland was all large marble fruit (the largest size) and West Clipland was all big tootfruit (medium size). Which type of bird is best adapted for the food on each island? Which bird will pass on its genes and which won't. What do you think future generations of Clipbirds will look like? If the Climate on West Clipland, suddenly got colder and only the tiny fruit was available, what changes in the Clipbird population are you likely to see in future generations?
All the questions from above:
- What differences do you notice between the data from East and West Clipland?
- Given the type of food available, is the data obtained, what you would have expected?
- Which type of bird is best adapted for the food on each island?
- Which bird will pass on its genes and which won't on each island.
- What do you think future generations of Clipbirds will look like if conditions stayed the same on each island?
- If the Climate on West Clipland, suddenly got colder and only the tiny fruit was available, what changes in the Clipbird population are you likely to see in future generations? Explain your reasoning.
These questions are due on Thursday.
