Alcohol Fermentation

This beer was once made through alcohol fermentation! Alcohol fermentation is a process used in brewing, winemaking, and baking. The product of alcohol fermentation is ethanol which is toxic to the organism that produces it. Therefore, yeasts release their alcohol wastes to their surroundings. This process happens when yeasts, a single-celled fungus, are situated in a anaerobic environment where there is a low level of oxygen. Yeasts use this process to continue harvesting chemical energy without the use of oxygen.

- Drunken Monkey Hypothesis
Craving a beer? Feeling bad about it because you think you might be addicted to alcohol? Don't feel bad because all humans are addicted to alcohol...here's why. According to the 'Drunken Monkey Hypothesis', proposed by Dr. Robert Dudley...

- Q: Explain The Small Yield Of Atp From Anaerobic Respiration
In the absence of oxygen, the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl CoA, the Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation are prevented as oxygen is not available as the final electron acceptor. Hence, only glycolysis can occur, generating 2 molecules of ATP...

- Budding
Yeasts are single-celled organisms that play an important role in brewing. Yeasts can reproduce by budding. Budding is a type of asexual reproduction in which new individuals split or ?buds off? from already existing ones. ...

- Alcoholism- Effects And Treatment
Types of alcohols Alcohols include, a. Beverages: They contain 5-15% alcohol. E,g, Wine, beer and toddy. b. Spirits: They contain more than 50% alcohol. E.g. Whisky, brandy, rum, gin, arrack etc . The victims of alcoholism...
